SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 16

Congratulating Bluefield High School for an outstanding 1997
athletic year as the state Class AA football champions and the
state Class A/AA golf champions.
Whereas, Bluefield High School is to be commended for an
outstanding 1997 athletic year; and
Whereas, During 1997, the Bluefield High School football team
ended the season with an outstanding record, earning it a chance to
participate in the state Class AA football championship playoffs;
and
Whereas, The Bluefield High School football team participated
in and won the state Class AA football championship; and
Whereas, The outstanding leadership of head coach Freddy Simon
and his staff, along with the athletic ability of each team player
helped to bring the state Class AA football championship to
Bluefield High School; and
Whereas, The 1997 Bluefield High School golf team participated
in and won the state Class A/AA golf championship; and
Whereas The outstanding athletic ability of each team player
helped bring the state Class A/AA golf championship to the campus
of Bluefield High School; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby congratulates the Bluefield High School
football team for an outstanding 1997 season and for winning the
1997 state Class AA football championship; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Senate congratulates the Bluefield
High School golf team for an outstanding 1997 season and for
winning the 1997 state Class A/ and state Class AA golf championship; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward
a copy of this resolution to the coaches and players of the
Bluefield High School football and golf teams for an exceptional
1997 sports season.
